Mr Snowman and the effects of Global Warming

Global Warming has been quite an issue in the recent past. It seems that the glorious Industrialisation is finally taking its toll on mother earth. I am still wondering how this could have happened in a time span that is so minuscule. Has there not been life before that? For many thousands of years? And how come only now, since the start of the industrial revolution was human kind able to run down this planet, so much that we actually managed to change the climate? I don't want to say that industrial revolution is bad, it certainly was and still is a good thing. And I have to add that if it wasn't for that step I wouldn't have had all the great things I grew up with. But on the other hand I am very much concerned about the change in climate and I'm wondering how and if it's possible at all to reverse the damage we have done to this earth? Well, trying to minimise the carbon footprint is certainly a great idea but in a way slow. So anyway, the weather currently (at the place I'm located) is absolutely freezing and it has been snowing so much that absolutely everything came to a standstill, because people were not prepared for such weather. It actually feels like a small 'ice age' with temperatures being around -10 degree Celsius. But then again sometime last year in the Winter time it was actually so mild that I almost mistook it for Spring. Now isn't that ironic? It seems that the seasons do shift around. Plus, the temperatures are rising from year to year and who knows maybe in the not too distant future some places in this world will have record high temperature like never before. Meaning that I could probably save money and holiday somewhere in Europe instead of having to buy expensive tickets for a holiday somewhere in the Caribbean :). All jokes aside, it would be devastating not only to humans but also to the flora and fauna habitant on this earth. The climate change will bring with it a change in the natural habitat of all living creatures, and with all certaintly probably extinguishing a great deal of plants and animals. Which would also lead to another problem namely that the balance of all living is not given anymore and that it might be that the whole biotope will crush. But hey, I don't want to meet trouble halfway, so I best leave you all to think about what we can do to minimise the impact our living has on this earth to keep it a beautiful place for all of us to live in prosperity.
