hi michele84. I think that in our modern society we are surrounded by status symbols day by day. What is an everyday asset (e.g. car) may have been a status symbol many decades ago. But because society and its needs change as well as the financial focus people in today's society are much more likey to be able to afford a nice car, a house, a yacht etc without problems. I do believe that certain assets are necessary for everyday living, however other items are not and are only serve as accessories.
